From idea to Edition 01—inside the making of Camila Martin Barla
This one started with a name. Camila Martin was the original brief. But then we heard her full name—Camila Martin Barla—and yeah, Barla just hit different. Argentinian, lyrical, too good to drop. So that became the brand: Camila Martin Barla. Elegant, distinctive, rooted.
Camila is Argentinian. Yves, her partner in all this, is Swiss. Together they’re the kind of creative duo you don’t get often, considered, romantic, clever as hell. They came to us with a vision for something intimate but sharp, something that could move between categories. A lingerie brand that felt less about seduction and more about power. Soft power, but still.
We started with brand strategy. Which, in this case, was really about reading Camila. Her influences, her upbringing, the quiet fire behind her ideas. We weren’t building a trend-led brand, we were building her world. She comes from a design background, with an eye that’s naturally minimal but full of subversive tension. That was the line we followed. Understated. Confident. With a dark side that doesn't need to explain itself.
We built a brand identity that feels timeless and personal. Everything stems from her, editorial, quiet, self-assured. The collections are released as Editions, like books or films. Each one its own mood. Edition 01 drops in July, mostly lingerie but the kind you want to wear under anything. Or nothing. It’s cool, direct, grown-up.
We also shot the campaign photography. We’ll show you more when we launch, but for now, here’s a sneak from one of the lo-fi setups, shot on a school flatbed scanner. Chaotic. Brilliant. Lotta missed frames. Lotta gems.
We designed and built the site too: www.camilamartinbarla.com
