Mother Earth starts with Hiroshi Yoshimura. A good indication that nobody is about to start shouting.

Joseph Shabason comes next, then Yves Tumor, D.K., Mort Garson and Green-House. Ambient, dub, jazz and electronics get mixed up somewhere along the way, without the playlist ever quite deciding what it is.

Alice Coltrane appears towards the end. Duval Timothy follows. Anthony Naples picks up the pulse before Andy Stott closes things out and makes the room feel slightly colder.

It’s calm, mostly. But not polite. There are enough strange turns in here to stop it disappearing into the furniture.

September feels about right. Summer is technically still hanging around, everyone is back at work, and Mother Earth is in no particular rush to join them.
