Photography That Has to Work

A campaign image carries more weight than it looks like it does. It holds the brand's mood, the season's story, the product's value, often in a single frame, across every channel it lands on. Getting it right is not about finding a good photographer and hoping for the best. It is about having the right creative direction, the right production, and the right eye in the room.

We have made campaign photography, advertising and social content for Tiffany & Co, Topshop, Annabel's, De Beers, Debenhams, Marni, Next, Off-White and others. Some shoots are large, multi-day, multi-location productions. Some are a single day, sharp and fast. All of them are built around one thing: the brief, and what the brand actually needs from it.

What we shoot

CAMPAIGN PHOTOGRAPHY

These are the images a season is built around. We develop campaign photography from a considered creative position, working brief to concept, to casting, to location, to the final frame. Every decision is made in service of one thing: what the campaign actually has to do. The result has to carry weight across every channel it lands on, from press and out of home to digital and paid, and read as one idea wherever it appears. We've built campaigns this way for Tiffany & Co, Topshop, De Beers and Off-White, at every scale from a single hero image to a full campaign shoot.

FASHION PHOTOSHOOT PRODUCTION

A shoot with too many moving parts and not enough coordination produces expensive mediocrity. We run full-service fashion photoshoot production, casting, location, studios, styling, hair and make-up, equipment, crew and logistics, at whatever scale the work demands, from a single studio day to a multi-location campaign run across cities.

The complexity is ours to carry, not yours. We've delivered productions for the kind of brands that don't get to have an off day, where the schedule is tight, the stakeholders are many, and the only acceptable outcome is the assets the brief asked for, on time and on budget. Senior teams use us to take the production weight off the table entirely. First-timers use us to make sure nothing falls off it.

LOOKBOOKS & SEASONAL IMAGERY

These are the images that sell the collection, and the ones a brand lives with for a whole season. We shoot lookbooks with the same creative rigour we bring to campaign work, and with a precise understanding of how product has to be shown, clearly, consistently, and in a way that flatters the range without flattening it.

A seasonal lookbook has a job to do: present the collection, hold the line on tone, and make every piece desirable in its own right. Clean does not mean flat. Fast does not mean careless. Whether it's a tightly art-directed editorial book or a high-volume seasonal shoot, the work comes back coherent, on-brand, and built to run across e-commerce, wholesale and press.

LIFESTYLE PHOTOGRAPHY

Lifestyle photography shows a brand in the world, not just a product on a model. We shoot location-based imagery with a clear point of view about how the brand lives, moves and feels, grounded in a genuine understanding of the audience it's speaking to. It's the difference between a picture of a coat and a picture of the kind of person who wears it, and the life they're living when they do.

Done well, this kind of lifestyle imagery gives a brand somewhere to exist beyond the studio, content that works as hard on social and editorial as it does on the homepage. Not generic aspiration. A distinct perspective, shot with intent.

LUXURY & HIGH-END PHOTOGRAPHY

Luxury fashion photography is built on restraint and detail. The difference isn't spending more, it's knowing more, knowing what makes an image feel elevated rather than merely expensive, and having the production discipline to actually execute it. At the luxury end, every element earns its place: the light, the surface, the styling, the crop, the single gesture that holds the whole frame.

We work at this level consistently, for brands where the standard is non-negotiable and the margin for error is small. It's a level you reach through preparation and judgement, not budget alone, and it's where a lot of our best work lives.

COMMERCIAL & ADVERTISING PHOTOGRAPHY

Advertising photography has a job to do, and we never lose sight of what that is. We shoot commercial fashion campaigns built to sell, for retail, e-commerce and paid media, without sacrificing the creative edge that makes someone stop in the first place. The brief sets the target: the conversion, the launch, the season, the channel. The image has to hit it while still looking like something worth looking at. That balance, commercial intent and genuine craft in the same frame, is the whole point, and it's what keeps brands coming back rather than just coming once.

WHAT IS A CAMPAIGN PHOTOSHOOT?

A campaign photoshoot is a planned production built to create the hero imagery a season, launch or advertising push is built around, pulling creative direction, casting, location, styling, photography and post into one coordinated shoot so every image is on-brief, on-brand and ready to run wherever it's needed.

The difference that matters in practice: a lookbook documents a collection; a campaign sets the tone for it. Most brands need both, often from the same shoot, and the quality of the production is what determines whether one day's shooting delivers all of it or only some of it. That's the part that separates a shoot that goes to plan from one that quietly costs more than it should.

PLANNING A FASHION SHOOT, WHATEVER THE SCALE

Whether you commission shoots for a living or you're booking your first, the variables are the same, the type of shoot, the assets it has to produce, the brief behind it, and the budget and timeline holding it together. What changes is how much of it you want to carry yourself. For experienced teams, we slot in as the production partner that handles the moving parts and makes the right calls under pressure. For brands doing this for the first time, we run the whole thing and tell you what you need to know as we go.

The type of shoot

It starts with the output, not the aesthetic. A product shoot, a seasonal lookbook and a full campaign are different productions with different scopes, crews and costs, and the right answer is usually shaped by market position, season and what the work has to achieve commercially. If a brief arrives pointing in two directions at once, we'll say so early, before it costs anyone a shoot day.

The assets and formats

The deliverables drive the production. Where the images are going, editorial, out of home, paid, e-commerce, dictates how the shoot is lit, framed and shot, and the crops and formats are planned in from the start rather than salvaged in post. Get this defined early and the entire shoot runs cleaner.

The brief

Fashion photography runs on theme, mood, concept and story, so a strong brief is worth more than a big budget. We take what you have, whether that's a deck and a mood-board or a one-line idea, and turn it into a treatment that's specific enough to shoot from, with costs attached to location, equipment, styling, hair and make-up and crew. We're also happy to challenge a brief when challenging it makes the work better.

The budget and timeline

Most of the budget is protected before the shoot day, in the detail of pre-production: the right people, the right kit, the right amount of time, all accounted for so nothing surfaces as a surprise. On the day, a two-hour overrun can unravel a schedule and turn into overtime or missed shots. Keeping that from happening is the job, and after more than a decade of shoots, it's the part we're quietly good at.

fashion CAMPAIGN PHOTOGRAPHY & PHOTOSHOOT FAQS

The questions brands ask us most, whether it's their first shoot or their fiftieth.

  • Campaign photography, lookbooks and seasonal imagery, lifestyle and location shoots, luxury and high-end work, and commercial and advertising photography. We cover the full range, and we produce it end to end, from creative direction through to final retouched assets.

  • We start with your brand’s DNA, not a generic template. Working from your positioning and references, we build a brief that fixes the theme, mood and story before anyone picks up a camera, so the final images read unmistakably as you, across every channel they run on.

  • Yes, and most clients use us for exactly that. We handle the whole shoot, from creative direction and mood-boards to studio hire, casting, hair, make-up and styling, through to post and delivery. Senior teams hand us the complexity; newer brands hand us the lot.

  • Start with what the shoot has to deliver, the type of work, the assets and formats, the brief, and the budget and timeline. We turn that into a treatment and a production plan and run it from there. There’s a full walkthrough in the planning section above, and the short version is: tell us the goal and the budget, and we’ll build the shoot around it.

  • Most of both are protected in pre-production, before the shoot day, by accounting for the right people, kit and time up front so nothing surfaces as a surprise. On the day, an experienced production team is what keeps a small delay from becoming overtime or a missed shot. You’ll always know what you’re spending and what you’re getting for it.

  • Yes. Depending on the product and the campaign’s goals, we shoot editorial, luxury, product-focused or lifestyle, and often a considered mix, to show each piece in the way that serves it best.

  • We cast and scout to the brief and the brand’s world, and we bring a point of view rather than waiting to be told. The campaign’s tone leads every choice, and we’ll recommend what we think is right while keeping you in control of the final call.

  • Yes. We offer full post-production, with editing and retouching taken to the standard the brand and the channel demand, so the final assets land polished and ready to use.

  • A lookbook documents the collection. A campaign sells the idea behind it. A lookbook’s job is clarity, showing every piece accurately and consistently so buyers, press and customers can see exactly what the range is. A campaign’s job is tone, the mood, the story, the reason someone should care before they’ve registered a single product. They call for different briefs, sometimes different crews, and almost always different edits. Plenty of brands need both in the same season, and often we’ll capture them from a single, well-planned shoot.

  • It depends on the scale of the shoot and the volume of assets, but we plan delivery dates into the schedule from the start and hold to them. If you’re working to a launch or a campaign date, tell us early and we’ll build the timeline around it.

  • It depends on the shoot, and any agency that quotes a flat number before seeing the brief is guessing. Cost is driven by scope: the type of shoot, the number of looks and set-ups, location versus studio, the level of talent and crew, and the volume of final assets. A focused single-day shoot and a multi-location campaign sit at very different points on that scale. Tell us what the work has to achieve and the budget it has to work within, and we’ll build a production that makes the most of it, then tell you plainly what it takes to deliver.
