Mark Bage

Founder + Managing director

Mark founded Not Studio after thirty years at the sharp end of fashion, retail, buying, e-commerce, film, branded content and creative direction.

He founded Coggles, then as CEO and E-commerce Director took the business past £100m in turnover over its lifetime, across the stores, the franchises and Coggles.com, and trained 2,000 staff. It gave him a rare, lived understanding of what makes fashion brands work commercially, culturally and creatively.

As Buying Director for Grazia and Coggles, he was named Buyer of the Year at the Drapers Awards. As Retail Director, he built franchise systems for French Connection, Coggles and Paul Smith, and brought Mango into the UK. He later founded Sneak in Peace, shaped by the same instinct that has run through his whole career: know the customer, trust the product, and make the experience feel effortless.

Listed four consecutive years in the Drapers Power List of the 100 most influential people in fashion, reaching 47th, Mark has spent his career reading the industry before it becomes obvious. He contributes to fashion and retail publications, speaks at e-commerce conferences, judges industry awards, and is regularly brought into conversations where brand, commerce and culture need to make sense of each other.

At Not Studio, Mark brings the eye, the instinct and the commercial bite. He knows when a brand has something real, when it is over-explaining itself, and when the work needs to be sharper, simpler and braver.

His own portfolio of film direction and creative direction is at markbage.com.
